Openly discussing sexual and reproductive health is still a taboo and often met with resistance in Rwanda. This lack of open discourse exacerbates challenges such of the prevalence of HIV and STIs and the limited use of family planning services. HDI provides accurate, comprehensive education and awareness on the topic to key community leaders, government officials, and youth populations through radio, television, and social media. This program is largely funded by UNICEF, The David & Lucile Packard Foundation, and  Norwegian People’s Aid.
